THE GREAT BEEF RIPP-OFF

Briniton of over the rainbow shines a light on the chaos that is local grocery shopping in sunny Queensland - D.

"When I see Scotch Fillet steak priced at $29 kg Yes I guess I am being ripped off. Rib Eye Fillet same sort of prices but then Rib Eye is the better cut. Not that I can afford to ever buy it I just dream about buying it.We recently had in the grocery flyers within a 10km radius 4 different prices for mince on special. What really gets my goat is that we have 2 stores different names but still both owned by the same company and at times both sell the others products. It is not unusual to see Tomatoes for instance $1.99 a k at one shop and at $4.99 at the other. Go Figure.Rip off ?yes indeed."

STEAK SANDWICH FILLED POTHOLE

Mr Madden, is finally blowing the whistle on those by-the-book bureaucrats down in Geelong - bloody southerners! - D.

"So a club got their driveway fixed and two people got lunch. The biggest scandal since "storm in a tea cup". Go chase up some real criminals. This looks like a community of mateship and extremely harmless. Be different if they were given money. What would have happened to the sandwiches if the club didn't sell them or use them the rest of the day anyway."

70 CLUBS FACE GLASS BAN

Kareen Ferguson of Brisbane finds a clever way to avoid the horrors of drinking out of plastic - D.

"I went out on Saturday night to the Chalk Hotel. They were using plastic cups there. The normal price there for a rum and coke (in a glass) $7.50. They were charging the same price for a rum and coke in a plastic cup $7.50 for a PLASTIC CUP no way! So I was buying a stubbie of Bundy for $10.00. Yes they are a bit more expensive, but you get more and you are drinking it out of glass! So I am right in saying most people will switch to drinking spirits out of Stubbies like I did. So you will still have this glassing issue. It's simple -Jail these losers who are going around glassing people!!!"

THEME PARKS CUT-LUNCH BAN

Simon of Kedron is angry enough to let the 'damn bureaucrats' loose - D.

"We pay enough to get into these places as well as the extra bits while we are in there. If I have to buy all my food and drinks as well then I simply cannot afford to take my kids there anymore. Their prices for food and drink are way too high because they have a captive audience.

Let's get the ACCC in on this."

Luckily, Richer Thanyew pours a bucket of tough love over the likes of Simon - D.

"I'd suggest that if you're so poor than you can't afford to buy yourself a greasy burger & fries when you're out then you should really be spending your money a bit more wisely than wasting it at theme parks. Maybe cut out the pokies, booze and fags too. That said, Australia is full of mugs like you and the greedy corporations know it. Where else in the world do you pay a premium for stuff that is essentially garbage? Stay away and let them rot I say."

TEACHERS URGED TO SMARTEN UP

Unfortunately, Jack is almost alone and surrounded by bitter, boring, conservative drivel.- D.

"Those fulminating about respect, decency and good, old-fashioned this, that and the other should realise that not everyone thinks like you or wants to live like you. Some schools are situated in places where being "average" is not the be all and end all of human existence. Some of we parents aren't interested in bringing our kids up to be army officers, bank managers, accountants and other types of human drones. Some of us don't want the only life lesson being taught by adults, including teachers, to our children to be how to conform. If you want your own local school to be a bogan factory churning out kids whose only ambition in life is to have a neat haircut and to drive a Commodore, then join your local school council and knock yourself out. But don't impose your My Three Sons mentality on the rest of us."

TAXI DRIVERS FORCED TO WAIT A YEAR FOR LICENCE

Unlike most of the commentary team on this story, Doreen of Qld Ipswitch reminds us why the 'taxie issue' riles people up so much without being a racist .- D.

"I was driving down teh [sic] Ipswich Highway a couple of weeks back in front was a taxie [sic] driver going right into the other lane of traffic all over the road. Sure would have been one big accicdent. [sic] My husband got his cab number & I rang up there & then on my mobile phone & told them. that one of there [sic] drivers was all over the road & had a poor passanger [sic] in there. For sure I would have got out !! if the pol ice were there he would have got pulled over. Dont know if he had been drinking or not. All the manager said at the cab place was maybe he was TIRED !!!! CAR CLAMPS FOR FINE DEFAULTERS

Matt of Brisbane of Brisbane cuts through the BS with both barrels. - D

"Lets [sic] not talk about speed as anyone who knows anything about having safer roads knows that the BS they tell us about "speed kills" is just BS. More people die from bad driving at slow speed than speeding, not to metion [sic] those who have cars which should be on the road anyway or are drunk/high."

POLICE ROLL IN PIMP MOBILES

'ticked off of brisbane' ticks all the boxes for a classic comment - D.

"The police should be driving old 1970s Monaros and GT Fords, and the police in them should be dressed as bogans with goatees. Thats the way to catch hoons, who temporarily behave at the sight of a police vehicle."

DAY AT THE BEACH? BYO SAND

Craig P of BrisneyLand fires the first shot against all the Prue and Tru's from Melborne - D.

SPERM CREATED IN LAB

Tracey of Ipswich gives us the most "coherent" analysis of the 'Sperm' issue that anyone's seen in ages - D.

"Horrifying ..mind blowing news. No one knows the safety of this artificial sperm. Could be a whole new type of babies born with deformities or genetically missing "something"...on the other hand "Super geniuses". How terrible to want to even experiment "seeing" if it works in IVF test tubes..."

COPS FINE CABBIE OVER SOCKS

d'Artagnon of Brisbane makes an important point about the little understood dangers of dress shoes and their large 'welts' - D.

"Well I would be happier with the taxi driver wearing that footwear rather than dress shoes though longer socks do look better. Most dress shoes have large welts which are a safety issue when driving cars. It was drummed into me in the sixties that welts can catch on the underside of the edge of a brake pedal and loose you vital fractions of a second in going for the brakes. I am often horrified at the monster welts I see on police officers who drive pursuit vehicles. Check out race drivers footwear and then have look at what you are wearing. Maybe the police should have a look at the things they are issued with on driving safety grounds."

BRACE YOURSELF FOR COLD SNAP

Alannah of qld, gives us the nuts 'n' bolts about the Queensland cold snap from a Kingaroy perspective. - D

"I have lived in Kingaroy and i can tell you it's very cold, nothing like scrapping [sic] ice off your windscreen in the morning. I worked at P.C.A in a tin shed on the flats in -7C, you can have three jumpers, two long pants on and three sets of socks on and your [sic] still freezing."

$20 POKIE LIMIT SCRAPPED

When it comes to gambling, Elle has a knack of reducing complex arguments down to their simplest forms - D.

"I admit I like playing the pokies, however what disgraces me is that there is no choice between 2 cents a line, then 5 cents per line. i like playing 3 or 4 cents per line, on a 1 cent machine. I see so many people doing the 25 cents per line, which is $5 every press, and they go through hundreds and hundreds within half an hour.

Why not get rid of the 25 cents a line button and make the highest bet possible only 10 cents, which is often $2 a press instead of $5 a press???"
