DAYLIGHT SAVINGS 'DANGEROUS'.

Thankfully we have Clem to bring some common sense to the DST debate - D.

"If the stupid idiots against D.S.T. can show me a cow who can tell the time ising a clock, I will believe they would be confused?? As for " Fading the curtains.???Open your eyes you idiots. Throw your clock in the rubbish bin,?? and you know something,??? The Sun will STILL rise tomorrow morning at the time IT chooses, and YOU CLOWNS cannot stop it.. Never mind, "The smart State. all year 5 years behind rest of World, D.S.T. ADD one extra hour. Oh yeah,??? how the Hell do the birds sleep in the Arctic/ Antarctic, when it is daylight 24 hours a day.??? People ALL round the World manage, but NOT in Q'land.?? And they will also vote Cap't Bligh back next election,??? Need I say more. Where do some Aussies park brains?? Disgusted Oldie from Banora Point. (In N.S.W., where we cope with D.S.T."

COULD THIS MAN SAVE THE PLANET?

Fair suck of the sauce bottle! John finally adds some flavour to the often dry discussion on solar power. - D.

"What I wont to read about is billions of dollars being invested into solo energy, Australia is the dryest country on the planit and all along there sitting in the sky above is the the greatest sauce of power ever ? But man has to be smart enough to reach out and master this great sauce of enegy The Sun?"

CAMERAS TO TACKLE TAILGATING

Thankfully, Tailgaiting of South East Queensland reminds us of the too-often ignored role of Daylight Savings in the tailgaiting issue - D.

"Minimising tailgating is one of the key road-safety benefits that Daylight Saving delivers around the world, and South East Queensland motorists would equally benefit. University qualified studies show daylight saving improves driver visibity and therefore response times to HELP MINIMISE UNINTENTIONAL TAILGATING AND ACCIDENTS. LABOR ARE UP FOR A POLITICAL ACCIDENT OF THEIR OWN AT THE NEXT ELECTION FOR IGNORING THIS SOUTH EAST QLD ROAD SAFETY BENEFIT."

IT'S HIGH NOON AT GOODNA

Bartman stands on the firestep of the front lines of Brisbanes suburban warfare - D.

"He's right and wrong. Definately right about the "lower class leftovers", as Ipswich is a truly horrible place. Almost as awful and horrid as Caboolture and Depression Bay. But he's kidding himself if he thinks Ipswich people want to live on the Gold Coast, as it's awful too, and it would be safer to live somewhere off the coast of Somalia, or South Central Los Angeles."

WHY WOMEN QUEUE FOR LOOS

'Drop your guts at home pls' shines a light on the horrors that lurk in the darkest corners of everyone's mind - D.

"Here is the solution. Public toilets should only be used for Number Ones. Number Twos should be done at home. I'm sick of walking into toilets for a quick pee and being assaulted by someone's putrid stench or disgusting skid marks. It's enough to make you gag. Then the person after you thinks you did it. The queue's will be shorter too and less paper will be used."

YOUTH FACE BLEAK JOB FUTURE

At least David's Human Resources Department doesn't exclude poor spellers from their esteemed ranks - D.

"If they were to get a haircut, remove their nose, tongue and face peircings, have a shower more than twice a week and get laser treatment to remove the tattoes from their faces and necks they might stand a chance of getting a job. IT'S THE PUB POLICE PATROL

David has had his keen eye on the short spikey gelled hair problem and the decline of Larrikinism for a while - D.

"The rising violence seems to be coincinding with the rise of this new breed of young Aussie male. You know the guys they have spent too much time in the gym have short spikey gelled hair, tight shirts, have an arm band tattoo, most likely using pills because it has less carbs than beer, never have a smile on their face and have seen the bra boys movie too many times.

Going out isn't about having a few beers and a good time anymore, it's about picking up or getting in a fight. The Aussie Larakin [sic] is dead!"

AUSSIE MEN THE WORST HUSBANDS

He might be riled up, but at least BigAl of Palmwoods of Palmwoods irons his own shirts. I wonder how came to be 'full-bloodied'? - D.

"As a full-bloodied male I find this study offensive. I work 50 hours a week, vacuum the house on weekends, sweep the floor, dust the dust, do the shopping once a week, wash up occasionally, take the rubbish bins out, clean the car, cook meals on the barbecue, clean the gutters and do all my own ironing (you can't trust a woman with a shirt).

What does my wife do? She cooks most meals during the week, washes up most of the time, washes the clothes, does occasional shopping. End of story. No, she doesn't work!

Needless to say we have a long-lasting and loving relationship of over 30 years and it is not representative of this ridiculously biased study."

STIR OVER SHORT BLACK ONLY POLICY

John Boy is a relatively good speller and is relieved that blokes in Queensland are finally taking their coffee seriously - D.

"You blokes stick to your guns. I would love to go to a cafe anywhere and ask for a cup of coffee and that is exactly what I got. No more skinny this and half baked that. A simply [sic] coffee is what I want. I agree that all of the frills slow service down. There are literally thousands of shops if you want a frothy milk. Go to one of them. I reckon you blokes will get a good crowd who are happy without the cups of milk with there [sic] meal."

THE GREAT BEEF RIPP-OFF

Briniton of over the rainbow shines a light on the chaos that is local grocery shopping in sunny Queensland - D.

"When I see Scotch Fillet steak priced at $29 kg Yes I guess I am being ripped off. Rib Eye Fillet same sort of prices but then Rib Eye is the better cut. Not that I can afford to ever buy it I just dream about buying it.We recently had in the grocery flyers within a 10km radius 4 different prices for mince on special. What really gets my goat is that we have 2 stores different names but still both owned by the same company and at times both sell the others products. It is not unusual to see Tomatoes for instance $1.99 a k at one shop and at $4.99 at the other. Go Figure.Rip off ?yes indeed."

70 CLUBS FACE GLASS BAN

Kareen Ferguson of Brisbane finds a clever way to avoid the horrors of drinking out of plastic - D.

"I went out on Saturday night to the Chalk Hotel. They were using plastic cups there. The normal price there for a rum and coke (in a glass) $7.50. They were charging the same price for a rum and coke in a plastic cup $7.50 for a PLASTIC CUP no way! So I was buying a stubbie of Bundy for $10.00. Yes they are a bit more expensive, but you get more and you are drinking it out of glass! So I am right in saying most people will switch to drinking spirits out of Stubbies like I did. So you will still have this glassing issue. It's simple -Jail these losers who are going around glassing people!!!"

TEACHERS URGED TO SMARTEN UP

Unfortunately, Jack is almost alone and surrounded by bitter, boring, conservative drivel.- D.

"Those fulminating about respect, decency and good, old-fashioned this, that and the other should realise that not everyone thinks like you or wants to live like you. Some schools are situated in places where being "average" is not the be all and end all of human existence. Some of we parents aren't interested in bringing our kids up to be army officers, bank managers, accountants and other types of human drones. Some of us don't want the only life lesson being taught by adults, including teachers, to our children to be how to conform. If you want your own local school to be a bogan factory churning out kids whose only ambition in life is to have a neat haircut and to drive a Commodore, then join your local school council and knock yourself out. But don't impose your My Three Sons mentality on the rest of us."

COPS FINE CABBIE OVER SOCKS

d'Artagnon of Brisbane makes an important point about the little understood dangers of dress shoes and their large 'welts' - D.

"Well I would be happier with the taxi driver wearing that footwear rather than dress shoes though longer socks do look better. Most dress shoes have large welts which are a safety issue when driving cars. It was drummed into me in the sixties that welts can catch on the underside of the edge of a brake pedal and loose you vital fractions of a second in going for the brakes. I am often horrified at the monster welts I see on police officers who drive pursuit vehicles. Check out race drivers footwear and then have look at what you are wearing. Maybe the police should have a look at the things they are issued with on driving safety grounds."

$20 POKIE LIMIT SCRAPPED

When it comes to gambling, Elle has a knack of reducing complex arguments down to their simplest forms - D.

"I admit I like playing the pokies, however what disgraces me is that there is no choice between 2 cents a line, then 5 cents per line. i like playing 3 or 4 cents per line, on a 1 cent machine. I see so many people doing the 25 cents per line, which is $5 every press, and they go through hundreds and hundreds within half an hour.

Why not get rid of the 25 cents a line button and make the highest bet possible only 10 cents, which is often $2 a press instead of $5 a press???"
